Cool restored Mid Century Grundig Stereo cabinet with Drinks Cabinet
An vintage 1960s Grundig Stereo / Drinks Cabinet that has been salvaged, restored and re-finished as a striking sideboard.
It would have originally housed a record player and radio and unusually for a Stereo cabinet this one also has a drinks cabinet section inside making this a really cool and multi-functional piece of furniture to own.
It has striking wood veneer across the front which is made up of sliding doors that open left and right, but also each side catches the central section so that they both stack back together to reveal the interior.
The top and sides have been refinished in a semi-matt Black finish.
The drinks cabinet section has a smoked sectional mirror at the back, black glass base, mid-height glass shelf (removable) and gold studded padded-effect sides.
There is an original light fitting still in place that could be re-wired up to work as the door opens with a pressure switch but this is not tested.
The original radio and record player are no longer present, so the interior has been simply refreshed and tidied up ready for whatever comes next...
Vintage components could be put back with the record player drop in section still accessible below the new base insert or it could be remodelled for newer tech to go in. It would also work well with decks on top and vinyl storage below.
There is easy in-built access at the back for wires and cables. The sides have vents for speakers in the base - one of the original ones is still in place, but they simply screw in so can be replaced / removed.
Black metal replacement legs with gold coloured adjustable feet have been added to restore the sideboard to its original height.
