STUDIO SESSION: Work on a project at Done up North - Flexible
A completely new way to learn that takes all the pressure off you having to do it all so quickly in a short space of time, wait for help and then feel like you can't remember half of it afterwards because you were too busy enjoying creating!
This way you can relax and enjoy the experience and work alongside me and my assistant as we work on projects too.
Get an in-depth insight into the working practices of a real upcycling studio and many more tips along the way from what we're working on!
I'll be there to guide you and show you things as needed and then you are free to work and explore where the piece will take you, with all materials and supplies at your disposal.
The sessions can be booked on separate occasions or consecutively. Further sessions can easily be added later then if you want to top up on other aspects!
All sessions are run in working hours between 10am - 5pm while we're working on our own projects and can be booked on a Monday, Tuesday and /or Wednesday.
(Dates will be arranged with you once booked. We are booking for May onwards and are happy to get you booked in for the following months as places are limited).
While there is no limit on what you can explore as well as the basics of prep, painting, design and finishes, for your first sessions your learning pieces are required to be smaller items of unpainted furniture.
(Pieces may be left in situ by arrangement between sessions)
Refreshments and nibbles will be available to help yourself to as you work and we have a microwave / fridge if you wish to bring food. There is also an on site coffee shop and lots of sandwich shops a short walk away in Farsley.
Come and join the team and enjoy a fun relaxed, learning experience at your own pace!
The sessions will be for one person, unless you wish to bring someone with you which we can offer a reduced session rate of £300.
AS A GUIDE...
One day would allow you to prep, paint and do a little bit of taping, stencilling, gilding or decoupage as the design technique.
Two days would be the minimum to strip wood on a small piece, plus some painting and design work and applying wood finishes.
Three days would give you time to work on a medium piece with more painting/finishes or completing more complex designs.
A single day booking could also be ideal to focus on some specific aspects for already experienced painters with a project underway looking for some guidance as they work, e.g. you've painted but would like to do some decoupage work or look at installing fittings like handles, racks and lighting
If you're a complete beginner come and join one of my Studio Classes first :)
We'll discuss with you what you'd like to work on and plan the session together when booking the dates but if you have any questions please just drop me an email! email@example.com
