MASTERCLASS: Photoshop for Professional Furniture Upcyclers - 29th April
Have you ever struggled to get your ideas across to a customer? Or had difficulty visualising them fully yourself to be confident of how the finished piece will look?
Or maybe you'd like a way to play with elements so that you can reach that perfect design before even lifting a brush?
Come with me on this Masterclass as I show you how I create designs like those pictured that help my clients and myself fully imagine the designs we're creating.
You can see how close they are to the finished result. When I post the designs on my socials, they are often mistaken for actual makeover shots! If only it were that easy, hey ;)
Just think how confident your customers will be in your commission work if you present them with something that looked that realistic. Even changing the colours of a piece can dramatically help a customer visualise it and, just as importantly, make a decision too!
You can then use the software to play with details, switch elements in and out, and add geometric designs and even virtually decoupage with wallpaper!
It's a lot of fun once you get to grips with it, and in this Masterclass, I'm going to show you how to do it!
In this class, you'll find out how to:
Edit original photos to enhance the original photo quality and look ready for listing (Adjust colours/contrast/alignment)
Edit out unwanted elements in the original photos
Create replacement mirror reflections
Change the colour to demonstrate the new paint colour
Cut out furniture from images to drop onto a new background or replace the wall or floor in an existing photo
How to use the tools within Photoshop to work out and present your design
How to use the transform tools to add decoupage to the piece
This Masterclass will open the door to a whole wonderful new way of creating and visualising!
This will run initially Live online at 7.30pm Thursday 29th April (approx. run time 90mins) with a Q&A at the end for you to ask any questions you like.
The session will be available on replay for you to access as often as you like after the event.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED: You don't need any experience of Adobe Photoshop.
Some knowledge of working with files on a laptop will be assumed though.
The session is watch along rather than work along and available to watch back as often as you like with timing bookmarks to help you reference certain sections easily.
You'll also receive a handy Quick tips reference card you can print out to use while you're working on your images.
You could choose to explore the software first to help familiarise yourself, if you wish but it's not essential.
You can sign up for a month's free trial of the latest version of Adobe Photoshop here
The package is £9.98 per month after that. This includes 20GB of cloud storage.
It is possible to use an Photoshop Elements or an older version of the software as the tools should all be there, just be aware the menus might look a little different.
There is also a tool called Gimp created as a free option to Photoshop with similar functions you might like to explore if you are not looking to take on a subscription.
You will ideally need a laptop to use this software. If you have an iPad it would work best with a pen/stylus or mouse.
